Ross

Disability Support Worker

Hi, my name is Ross.

I was born and raised in Geelong and have lived here all my life. After a varied working life as a Fitter and Turner, Security Guard and working in the transport industry for over 30 years as a truck and bus driver and heavy vehicle driving instructor, I decided to go back to school. In 2019, I completed a Certificate III in Community Services and successfully completed a Diploma in Community Services in 2021.

While doing the Diploma over two years I have worked for a specialist employment service helping coach special needs school leavers with general job skills. I believe all people have a right to a fulfilled and meaningful life by achieving their goals regardless of ability. By using a person centred approach, I would like to spend the rest of my working life assisting people to achieve their goals in life.

Outside of work, if I’m not in my garage tinkering and making and repairing things, I enjoy spending time with my family, spending as much time as I can outside and in the bush taking pictures of the landscape and wildlife and camping and fishing, I also enjoy light gardening, growing vegetables, cooking and reading.
